As the bells of Notre Dame sound through the famed cathedral, Quasimodo, the hunchback bell-ringer, observes all of fifteenth-century Paris. Held captive by his devious caretaker, archdeacon Dom Claude Frollo, Quasimodo only finds kindness from the beautiful and clever gypsy, Esmeralda. Quasimodo isn’t the only one captivated by her free spirit, though – the handsome Captain Phoebus and Frollo are equally enthralled. As the three vie for her attention, Frollo embarks on a mission to destroy the gypsies – and it’s up to Quasimodo to save them all. This version faithfully tells Victor Hugo's classic tale of one man with a deformed body and another with a deformed soul. With unforgettable songs from the Disney film, this sweeping musical will touch your heart.

Wilde Tales

  • Haid Theater at Belmont Abbey College (map)

Directed by Jeff Manus

Come through the garden gate to a world where swallows, statues, and fireworks speak with all the wit of Oscar Wilde. Five stories of love and loss from Wilde's collection of stories for young people, The Happy Prince and Other Tales, are woven together with Wilde's later verse and clever puppetry in this innovative theatrical vision.

A statue and his friend test the limits of generosity; a nightingale sacrifices everything for the sake of true love; a giant builds a wall to keep children out of his garden; a family of ducks try to teach a water rat about compassion, and a self-important firework finds his purpose. Wilde's lush, bittersweet fables have long spellbound readers of all ages-- Now, masterfully planted onstage by Jeremy Bloom, these wild tales grow into a joyful event for all.
